MO
On July 4,2012, scientists at Europe's LHC,the world's largest atom smasher, announced the detection of the Higgs particle. This is the particle responsible for giving mass to all other particles - the particle that allows the universe to contain matter as well as energy. Professor Ogilvie,of Washington U's Physics department, will explain the nature of the Higgs particle, how it was finally found, and what it does.
