Today, some of the world’s most creative, challenging and sophisticated design can be found in the poor, makeshift urban settlements — the favelas, shanty towns and other informal communities— that collectively house nearly a billion people. "Design with the Other 90%: CITIES" surveys a range of projects that together expand contemporary definitions of what constitutes “good design.”
