Flight to Freedom: Annual Living History Event

Join us and discover the rich history of Gracia Real de Santa Teresa de Mose, the first legally sanctioned, free African settlement in what is now the United States. Take one of our guided tours and listen to tales of oppression, resistance, and the struggle for freedom. Explore military and daily life demonstrations describing what life was like for the brave freedom seekers once they escaped the constraints of slavery and earned their freedom in Spanish St. Augustine. Limited parking is available at Fort Mose Historic State Park. Additional parking and a free shuttle service is available at the Old City Jail by Old Town Trolley.
