ILLICITIZEN is a Charlotte NC two piece indie rock band featuring Eric Cavanaugh on vocals and guitar and Maria Zaccaro on electric bass. The music moves between post-punk/no-wave flavored art rock and Motown era R&B. The two employ sequenced rhythms and synthesizers to break up the conventions they gravitate to in their listening habits. The lyrical content blends social justice and commentary, into a aural stew of civil disobedience.
