Royal Albert Hall
Since opening in 1871 the Royal Albert Hall has occupied a central position in the cultural life of the nation. Largely built with funds subscribed by private individuals and operating under a Royal Charter, the Hall has fulfilled this role for over a century without public funding. The first comprehensive programme of development since the Hall's construction will be completed by the end of 2003 and will cost close to £70 million.

The original traditional Irish folk band, as far as anyone who came of age in the 1970s or 1980s is concerned, is the Chieftains. Their sound, built largely on Paddy Moloney's pipes, is otherworldly, almost entirely instrumental, and seems as though it comes out of another age of man's history....
Valentina Lisitsa is one of a growing number of artists whose career has been boosted by concert postings on YouTube. After initial success, much of it in performances of duo-piano repertory with her husband Alexei Kuznetsoff, Lisitsa found her career stagnating by the early years of the new century....
The first country singer to win American Idol, Carrie Underwood grew up in the small town of Checotah, OK, and began singing with her church at the tender age of three. Throughout her childhood, she also performed at functions for the Lion's Club and Old Settlers Day, eventually grading to festival gigs in several states....
Oh, what a story. Frankie Valli, who came to fame in 1962 as the lead singer of the Four Seasons, is hotter than ever in the 21st century. Thanks to the volcanic success of the Tony-winning musical Jersey Boys, which chronicles the life and times of Frankie and his legendary group, such classic songs as “Big Girls Don’t Cry,” “Walk Like a Man,” “Rag Doll,” and “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You” are all the rage all over again....
George Benson was born March 22, 1943, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He began his musical/recording career as a gypsy jazz guitarist at twenty-one, best known as a R&B pop icon and talented scat singer....
Born Anthony Benedetto, this smooth, Italian singer has done a little film work. ~ Rovi
A veteran of New York's anti-folk scene, songwriter Regina Spektor makes quirky, highly eclectic, but always personal music. Born and raised in Moscow until age nine, Spektor listened to her father's bootleg tapes of Western pop and rock as a young child and also learned to play piano....
Since their founding in 1973, Kronos Quartet have become the foremost ambassador of contemporary chamber music, determined and successful at breaking down barriers between musical genres and between musicians and audiences....

This show was absolutely incredible.
Maximo Park are an indie rock band,
their lead man Paul Smith wears a black Dior fedora and black shirt and trousers for this theatrical
dramatic performance of quirky love songs.A brass quintet and female string quartet accompanied some of the more powerful songs(Karaoke Plays,Let's Get Clinical and Our Velocity) in a 21 song set.
The highlight of the night was
keyboards man Lukas Wooller playing the 200 year old RAH organ to Acrobat,a jaw-dropping moment indeed.
An evening to remember in the majestic Royal Albert Hall.
