Toad Trek up Black Star Canyon, Santa Ana Mountains, Orange County, Difficulty = easy to moderate.

Friday, Dec 14, 2012 6:00p to 8:00p

The rainy season has come! The moist soil causes toads to emerge from the ground to mate and hunt for prey. We will search for the toads and other strange organisms along our trail route. Identify plants and other wildlife, including scorpion, coyote, deer, owl, tarantula, and bat. Turn left on Silverado Cyn Rd, make immediate left turn on Black Star Cyn Rd, follow road until it ends at brown metal pipe gate and park. Difficulty: Easy. RSVP: Call or email jrobinson@naturalist-for-you.org
