Beki Borman On the Horizon

"My paintings focus on an experience of color through the filter of landscape. I exaggerate the simple shapes and color relationships I find of interest to create a slightly hyper-realized image. I use a palette knife as my primary tool to build planes of thick creamy paint. The texture supports an experience of object as well as image."

Beki Borman was born and raised in the Milwaukee area of Wisconsin. She attended the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design where she received her BFA in painting… Show more in 2004. Since graduating, she has exhibited both locally and nationally. Beki paints landscapes in oil using bright colors and a textured surface. Some of her influences include Vincent Van Gogh, Wolf Kahn, and Wayne Thiebaud. She currently works out of her studio at her home in West Allis, and her work is represented by the Woodwalk Gallery in Egg Harbor.

Our gallery space is located in the main dining room, in the lower level of Garden Room. All Opening Receptions are FREE & open to the public, some feature live music, and most are also held during our happy hour! Come for the art, stay for dinner!

Gallery hours are the same as our regular dining hours, Tues 11-5, Wed-Sat 11-9, Sun 11-3, Closed Mondays.
