T hank you for helping our launch effort.
On the horizon are a few changes in these lessons in periodical publishing. We believe this will result in better individual offerings and a much stronger overall program.
The most important part of the expansion will be seen as a double workshop to include the current presentation for newsletter product development, with professional examples from Headlines Newsletter, but also a greater emphasis on training for each participant.
An expanded schedule will have many benefits for those individuals, businesses, organizations and government offices needing to gain greater results from their marketing communications activities.
-- The Annual Meeting – Originally set as a scheduled review for individual business units of Thornhill & Studio, the full-day review has hosted discussions for Thornhill Digital Storytelling - 2011 (The Thornhill Design Laboratory) and a planning meeting for The DTR Resource Center – 2012 (The Digital Television Report) at the Maui Research & Technology Center. Free registration is available at http://mauireview1.eventbrite.com.
-- A quarterly design upgrade will be instrumental in keeping our operation, public information and distributed product fresh and appealing.
-- Our product development team lives to support the monthly Headlines Newsletter publication. This includes management, staff, partners and contracted help.
-- Weekly continues to be the base schedule for our training. On Tuesday of each week, starting in September, there will be a two-hour session in Bellevue, Washington. Saturday morning continues to be the bedrock of the program, with a 10:00 Am to Noon workshop in our office conference room.
A more subtle transition is our move to workshop from simple introduction to publishing processes. The expanded program and schedule allows for greater depth of field, easier alignment with supportive partners and leads directly to greater competency in marketing communications.
We serve an audience of entrepreneurs and small businesses. Many of these are refugees from the digital wars. Almost every one reports that they just can’t make the financial nor time investments in building or maintaining an Internet presence.
A printed newsletter gives greater control, is certainly simpler and can be hand-delivered to potential customers to increase sales - or to existing clients to maintain a positive relationship. Once the newsletter editorial is in place, it is a short hop to create a digital version.
With growth will come greater efficiencies. The cost per workshop has now been reduced from the former rate of $20.00 per person to a very manageable $10 per person. That’s less cost per week or more company staff in the presentation!
And with additional administration, we can develop a brighter resources list, bring our tools to the marketplace earlier and schedule even greater benefits for the future.
In the advance planning for Headlines Newsletter, we see development in print, digital and tablet options. Each newsletter event will have an update on our progress in each area.
To bring even greater expertise to the upgrade, we are
planning “29 Tablets: A Symposium” for the near future.
