Chris Thile

Tuesday, Oct 1, 2013 7:30p

Chris Thile, of Punch Brothers, is a mandolin virtuoso, composer, and vocalist who encompasses progressive bluegrass, classical, rock, and jazz, to create a distinctly American canon and new musical aesthetic. Recently awarded a MacArthur “genius grant”, Thile also won a Grammy for his work on The Goat Rodeo Sessions, collaborating with Yo-Yo Ma, Edgar Meyer, and Stuart Duncan. The program draws from his new recording Bach Sonatas & Partitas Vol. 1, his own compositions, and contemporary music.
