"Dan's way of breaking down the thought process for taking landscapes was inspirational!“
Dan Ballard is an internationally known travel and landscape photographer and keynote speaker. He gives presentations and classes on photography around the world at symposiums, festivals and trade shows.  He will be speaking and teaching at the new Blackrapid headquaters on March 2nd! Â
Dan has been fine tuning his workshops and methods of teaching photography for years. Â This indoor photography class will… Show more focus on all aspects of creating a powerful image from pre-conception to final print. Â Dan will break down his entire shooting process for scouting locations, composing and using light, all the way to editing.Â
The first half of the program will be a lecture on shooting and how capture better images and the last on editing in Abode Lightroom and Nik Software Silver Effects. Â The goal will be to help you see the finial printed image in your "minds eye" before you push the button, and to teach you how to get it there. Â By working on key concepts and ideas that Dan uses to create great images in the field you will start to see the full picture (literately!).
Â
Ansel Adams himself said that half of photography is in the processing. That is still true today, and one of least understood aspects of photography is how to correctly edit an image to make it shine.  Dan has been using Adobe Lightroom to edit his images since the first beta version was released 7 years ago. He now uses the program almost exclusively.
Dan has a very unique approach to editing and we feel this technique will change the way you edit and think about image processing forever.
This class is suitable for all levels of photographers and Lightroom users, from those who have not yet purchased the software to those that have been using it for many years. This class is also suitable for those who prefer Adobe Camera Raw as most of the editing tools are the same.
Dan always gets rave reviews about his classes and presentations and we guarantee you will go away inspired and with new tools to creat better images.
After this class you will be dying to go shoot and create new images, as well as go back and reprocess older images....who knows, you may find a hidden masterpiece!
“Amazing photography and a thoroughly inspiring presentation!"

Superb!!! This was exactly what I was hoping it would be. As a long time NX2 user, Dan's demonstration made it clear to me that even as an old guy who is slow to learn that I can learn and use LR4 and enjoy it. Thanks Dan!!!!
