The Historic University Theater was a thriving movie theater for many years. It was the oldest still operating movie theater north of the ship canal up till the 1980's. In the late eighties, it was closed, and remained closed for ten years. In 1998, the building was purchased and renovated to include ADA accessible bathrooms and a new roof. In 2000, it was an all ages music venue called THE PARADOX. When the Paradox owners shut down in February of 2003, Wing-It Productions took over the lease and began re-creating the once majestic theater into the performance space it is today.
