The Homestead eschews modernity, which is why so few Seattleites (particularly those under 65) know it’s there. Regardless of your entrée choice (most go with the famous all-you-can-eat fried chicken, but the buttery baked halibut is great, too), your meal will begin with a basket of biscuits and jam, a small cup of soup, and a simple iceberg salad. The entrée arrives with rice, baked or mashed potatoes, and vegetables. Just like at Grandma’s house.
