Syracuse native Joe Magnarelli, moved to New York City in 1986 to become an in-demand part of the New York and international jazz scene. In addition to acclaimed stints with major artists such as Tom Harrell, the Vanguard Orchestra, Joe Williams and Aretha Franklin, he serves as adjunct professor of music at the Juilliard School of Music and Rutgers University. Powerful saxophonist Jerry Weldon is a native New Yorker. He’s played with Roy Haynes, Jimmy Cobb, Harry Connick Jr.
