Happiness Is

This inaugural exhibition for Montalvo's theme on health and wellbeing explores the complex, and often elusive, topic of happiness. A series of text-based works, performance-based engagements, and conversations will examine personal wellbeing, probing several questions. Is it possible for a person to have a meaningful impact on their own happiness? How do people promote positive emotions? What are the sources of happiness? Is the significance of happiness for a good life overrated? What mistakes… Show more do people make in the pursuit of happiness? This exhibition will feature works by such artists as Christine Wong Yap--a long time Oakland resident, now based in New York--and Leah Rosenberg of San Francisco.
