SAF Lecture: Architect Victor Lundy: Expressionist of the “Sarasota School”
Sarasota School of Architecture's Victor Lundy practiced in Sarasota between 1954 and 1960. Lundy, who celebrated his 90th birthday in 2013, has characterized his expressionistic designs as “an attempt to do great sculptured spaces with an economy of means.” His hidden gems in Sarasota are best known for their sweeping roof lines, mushroom canopies and circular configurations. Tonight’s admissions will be donated to the 1956 Lundy-designed South Gate Community Center Restoration Fund.
