Why limit your painting to value and color only? Learn how to paint the "temperature" of color. This approach is used in "Plein Air" painting. It's what enables the artist to capture so much of the feeling of the moment. Mediums in order of preference are oil, water-soluble oil, pastel and acrylic. Although watercolor is not the best medium for learning this approach, you can very easily apply this new knowledge to your watercolor painting. You will never see color the same way again!
