Kumihimo Woven Jewelry with Colleen White
Kumihimo is a method of braiding silk threads developed in Japan over 7,000 years ago. Modern crafters create kumihimo braids out of many different fibers, wire, and beads. In this class you will use a small, portable foam version of a maru dai loom to create weaves in ribbon, thread, bead embellished weaves and even 26 gauge colored copper wire. Class includes finishing braids with different types of end caps and how to create your own end caps with wire and cone beads. Call for material list.
