History Talk: Sonoma Women: Life in Mexican California

Thursday, Feb 27 7:00p to 9:00p
Sonoma County Museum Santa Rosa, CA

Drs. Rose Marie Beebe and Robert Senkewicz of Santa Clara University speak on women in Mexican California. Before the gold rush, the Sonoma area was the extreme, far northern frontier of California. The experiences of three different women of this area, Isidora Filomena, the wife of Sem-Yeto (Solano), Rosalía Vallejo, younger sister of Mariano Guadalupe Vallejo, and Josefa Carrillo, wife of American trader Henry Delano Fitch, throw light on everyday life in Mexican California.
