Thursday, 01/31/13, 7-9 pm, Santa Rosa High School Auditorium (1235 Mendocino Av SR), a poetry slam in conjunction with the national organization ‘Poetry Out Loud’ featuring up to 40 young SRHS poets competing to advance to county, state & national level of competition. The national winner will receive a $20,000 scholarship. The top 9 will earn cash. Contest features live music & guest poet Christine Perez, Press Democrat’s Chris Smith, Kerry Benefield & SRHS faculty members. Free
