NiT GriT
NiT GriT
Staking his claim on an otherwise untapped fusion between soulful, heartfelt composition and earth-shattering sound-design, Danny Beall aka NiT GriT has long been a uniquely identifiable figure in the North American bass music scene....
Andre Nickatina
Andre Nickatina
With a penchant for old-school rhymes and lo-fi beats, Andre Nickatina hails from the West Coast. He released Cocaine Raps and Raven in My Eyes simultaneously on the Dogday imprint, but it was the trilogy of 1999's Tears of a Clown and 2000's These R the Tales and Daiquiri Factory Cocaine Raps that put Nickatina on the West Coast circuit....
José James
José James
Often referred to as a jazz singer for the hip-hop generation, New York City-based vocalist José James combines jazz, soul, drum'n'bass, and spoken word into his own unique brand of vocal jazz. While he states his main influences as John Coltrane, Marvin Gaye, and Billie Holiday, his sound on early 12" singles and in live performances brought to mind such icons of '70s jazz-soul as Terry Callier, and his music felt more like an update of the fluid crossover approach of Gil Scott-Heron, while also being distinctly his own....
Tokimonsta
Tokimonsta
Born and raised in the South Bay area of Los Angeles, TOKiMONSTA (Jennifer Lee) was an unfocused pupil of classical piano. However, she has come to use this background to create vast textural soundscapes through utilizing live instruments, percussion, digital manipulation, and dusty noise....
Temples
Temples
British neo-psychedelic band Temples make trippy psychedelic pop that combines the experimental sound of bands like the Move and mid-period Byrds with the classic song craftsmanship of the Beatles. Formed in Kettering, Temples centered around the talents of songwriting duo vocalist/guitarist James Bagshaw and vocalist/bassist Thomas Warmsley....

NOTHINGLEFT not NOTHING LEFT!

nothingleft rocked this show at their latest battle of the bands performance! mistakenly called nothing left, nothingleft is blowing up around California but stays true to its santa cruz fans. nothingleft hardcore is the one of the biggest scenes in santa cruz. they play a combination of punk, metal, emo, screamo, and post-hardcore. they're probably the best band in santa cruz. nothingleft can be found at www.myspace.com/nl or www.nothingleftmusic.com
