Seabird Science and Stewardship at Año Nuevo Island
Año Nuevo Island is an important breeding colony for seven species of seabirds. Ryan Carle, an ecologist with Oikonos Ecosystem Knowledge, will share the natural - and human - history of the island, and the ongoing restoration project. Without native plants to stabilize the soil, the Rhinoceros Auklet nesting burrows collapse.
