Ninth Annual Sonoma County Book Festival

The ninth annual Sonoma County Book Festival is scheduled for Saturday, September 20, 2008, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in Old Courthouse Square in Santa Rosa. Come and enjoy the oldest general interest book festival in Northern California.

The event is for the whole family, anyone who loves reading or writing. Over 60 authors from the Bay Area and across the country will read from their published works and participate in discussion panels and workshops.

Among the broad range of topics and genres represented are mystery, thriller, nonfiction, debut fiction, poetry, self-help, travel, children’s and teen/young adult. Author/Presenters will include Cristina Garcia, Toni Morosevich, James Tipton, Susan Griffin, Noelle Oxenhandler, Lisa Margonelli, Julia Whitty, Gaye LeBaron, and many, many more.

In addition, the event will include 70 exhibitor booths, showcasing writers, independent booksellers, publishers and other literary groups. Admission is free and includes readings, panels, and activities for all ages.

A special evening event will feature Michael Krasny, host of KQED’s award-winning Forum, a news and public affairs program that concentrates on the arts, culture, health, business and technology. He is author of “Off Mike: A Memoir of Talk Radio and Literary Life.” Space is limited, with details on tickets forthcoming.
