At the time of their 1990 debut, the kind of rock & roll the Black Crowes specialize in was out of style. Only Guns N' Roses came close to approximating a vintage Stones-style raunch, but they were too angry and jagged to pull it off completely.

We are the mind-children of Ethan and Ian. We incorporated a hirsuite brute called Mike. We and a drifter named John ambled and broke and We were remade, absorbed a Turtle and a Keysterer.

Eating Crowe

The vibe was just not there. I'm sure Ed and Marc are glad to know that the Crowes are seriously hurting without them. Neither Chris or Rich seemed "on". Luther's guitar solos just were not good friends. I've seen this band all over the country over the last 20 years almost and never have been let down until towards the end of last year for the first time. I gave them one more chance & regret it. I heard a lot of people saying stuff like "they should bring back Marc" I would hate to see that with his solo/producing career really starting to blossom like it is. Believe me, the Crowes are missing that old chemistry. Sorry guys.
