International Suzuki Guitar Festival

The week long festival will provide Suzuki guitar instruction for children ages 3 and up, professional development and public performances by world renown guitar virtuosos.

We have assembled who we feel are the very finest teachers, clinicians and performers from around the world for a week of celebration and community. It is our hope that festival participants will go away with renewed motivation, inspiration, and a sense of Dr. Suzuki’s dream for creating a better world through music.

The event will feature several levels of training in Suzuki Guitar methodology. Whether you are just interested, beginning or continuing your training the festival will provide you with nurishment, inspiration and wisdom necessary to help you embark on your teaching career or to guide you in your journey.

Festival performer, William Kanengiser, is recognized as one of America’s most brilliant guitarists, William Kanengiser has developed a unique repertoire for his instrument, ranging from dazzling arrangements of Mozart, Handel, and Bartók to his innovative excursions into the music of Eastern Europe and the Caribbean. He will open the festival with a public performance at the Convention Center Theater.

Celso Machado, master of ritmos brasileiros, virtuoso guitarist, percussionist and multi-instrumentalist brings joy to his audiences, with his subtle mixture of musical inspiration, irresistible rhythm and inspired lunacy will also perform during the festival and teach Brazilian guitar and drumming through the week.
