Black History Month at MHM: Film Night featuring Marinship Memories

Thursday, Feb 21, 2013 6:00p
History Center San Rafael, CA

Marinship Corporation was a shipbuilding company of the United States during World War II, created to build the shipping required for the war effort. Founded in 1942, the shipyard built 93 cargo ships and oil tankers, before closing in 1945.

This 45-minute documentary showcases the story of the workers who arrived in Marin to build ships in the Sausalito shipyard during the war and the birth of Marin City.

This screening is part of MHM's celebration of Black History Month in Marin County.
