Chairman of LDJ Capital and The Soho Loft
David Drake is a leading equity expert based in New York City, USA. He is the founder and chairman of LDJ Capital, a Private Equity advisory firm, and of The Soho Loft, an event-driven global financial media company.
Born in Sweden and fluent in six languages, Mr. Drake is a strong advocate of innovative investing in early-stage equity and the Us Jobs Act, for which he lobbied both Congress and the Eu Commission. Because of his leading work in this space, he was a Us Commerce Department delegate to the Eu Commission in Brussels and Rome, and was invited in May 2013 to the White House Champions of Change ceremony in Washington, D.C.
His investment, The Soho Loft, produces and sponsors 150+ global events a year. One such was produced April 2013 for the institutional media leader Thomson Reuters, with speakers from Nasdaq, Nyse, KKR and Carlyle Group. He continues to advance innovative investing through his work as an international speaker and regular writer for major publications like Forbes and Thomson Reuters. Today he is a board director of the Ubs charity of the year, London-based Archive Global, and is co-chair of the Tree Kangaroo Foundation in New York.
Mr. Drake has an MBA in Finance and an Ma in International Law and Economics from George Washington University where he was awarded the Wallenberg Scholarship for academic merit.
Steve Cinelli has been engaged in corporate finance, strategy, business development and financial technology throughout his career. Beginning with Bank of America, he served in its Technology Banking Group, later to become part of Security Pacific Bank’s Merchant Banking Group focused on leveraged buyout financing, and initiated the Bank’s mezzanine lending activities. He served as a principal at Knightsbridge Partners, a private equity firm.
Before “crowdfunding” was became a term, Steve co-founded, in 1999, OffRoad Capital, a private capital market for unregistered securities, enabling emerging growth companies to raise up to $15 million of equity funding through a captive global market of 12,000 accredited investors. Serving on the board and overseeing the investment banking and international activities, he is recognized as the ?inventor? on the patent filing of the market system, having designed the framework, protocols, and business model.
Ten years later, Steve founded another market platform, Primarq, which addresses the need to bring new equity capital into the housing finance system. Recognizing that the excessive use of mortgage debt is no longer a viable in financing residential real estate, Primarq is a paradigm shift approach in a multi-trillion dollar market in the Us and abroad.
Academically, he received a Bachelor of Science in Commerce from Santa Clara University, and was awarded a Masters Degree in International Finance from Golden Gate University. Previous investments include Teknovus (Broadcom) and Ario Data (Xyratek). Between 1997 and 2001, Tim was the Chief Marketing Officer for Digital Island (Nasdaq: Isld) a Partech portfolio company. The company was acquired in 2001 for $350M. Prior to Digital Island, Tim was a General Manager at Lucent Technology where he led the international voice communications product management team (now Avaya) with P&L for product lines generating over $2B in annual sales. Jan Jannink earned a PhD in Computer Science and worked as part of the Database Group at Stanford University before inventing the database architecture and the meem data model that power the imeem system. Wanting to bring deep technology to direct communications systems, Jan continually works on algorithm design, data management and software development. Jan holds a Bachelors in Mathematics and Japanese from Georgetown University, and both a Masters and PhD in Computer Science from Stanford. Mark Putney has had direct involvement in the high-tech industry since 1984. He has lived in the Silicon Valley since 1978. In 1985 he founded Techsystems Inc. a sales and marketing company promoting high end capital equipment to the semiconductor and printed circuit board assembly industry. The company started from scratch and ultimately exceeded $30M in sales. In 1987 Mr. Putney founded Screen Manufacturing Technologies servicing the PCB assembly industry.
