Astronomy — Wondrous Spring Skies

Wednesday, Mar 20, 2013 7:30p to 9:30p
College of San Mateo San Mateo, CA

Do you know why Queen Bernice of Egypt has her hair in the sky? What does a celestial crow have in common with Apollo, a cup of water, and a snake? Professor Darryl Stanford, an astrophysicist at CSM, will demystify and finally make sense of those disconnected dots in the sky. Learn to use a planisphere* to identify and locate these constellations on our rooftop observatory. Please bring a small flashlight.
