SJMA’s community days take a modern approach to traditional multi-cultural customs. Activities will include live performances and hands-on art making activities representing diverse cultures that celebrate Lunar New Year. The Rising Phoenix Lion Dance Association will perform at 1 PM. In the Chinese zodiac, 2013 is the year of the snake. Hands-on art-making will include red envelope decorating, spring-y year of the snake activity, and a new take on the traditional Chinese landscape.
