Mexican and Mexican-American artists contrast the traditional with the cutting-edge, the high-brow with the low-brow. These artists draw inspiration from Mexico’s deep well of visual culture, referencing folk art, popular culture, and vernacular craft traditions as well as contemporary idioms. Artists featured are: Natalia Anciso, Margarita Cabrera, Enrique Chagoya, Colectivo “La Malagua," Máximo González, Gabriel Kuri, Franco Mondini-Ruiz, Betsabeé Romero, and Jamex and Einar de la Torre.
