Work that fits your interests and skills can make all the difference to your career satisfaction and success.
This workshop offers an opportunity to assess both your interests, through the Strong Interest Inventory and identify/define your transferable Skill Set to help inform and direct your career exploration and planning
You will:
1. Discover how your natural interests can uncover information about your best fit career path options assessed… Show more by the Strong Interest Inventory – giving you information about your “ Career Personality ” to the kinds of work you like to do, your work values, and the type of environments in which you thrive.
2. Assess your transferable skills, and create a preferred Skill Set; learn how to utilize this information to plan your next steps in building a career path that matches what you do with what you both do best and enjoy most.
3. Learn how to utilize your assessment results to self-market in your career development and job search, including how these can inform the development of a unique value proposition, and a more focused resume.
*Participants will receive a tutorial utilizing the results of their assessments, that will describe how to maximize use of the extensive O*Net database in their career planning, including exploring information on careers, accessing current labor market trends, salary information, and career exploration resources.
The Strong Interest Inventory assessments will be taken in advance of the workshop and includes an extensive personalized report.
Upon registration, participants will be set up to complete the Strong Interest Inventory, online, prior to the workshop date.

Susan Jewkes Allen, MSW, GCDF is a San Francisco based career counselor and coach. Susan is a licensed Global Career Development Facilitator with an MSW in clinical practice, post-graduate credentials in transpersonal psychology, personality studies and creativity coaching. Susan has been in private practice for more than 25 years, is a certified provider of the Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI)and the Strong Interest Invetory (SII), which she has used as assessment tools with individuals and groups in a wide variety of settings from non-profits to Fortune 100 companies. She is the founder at Life+Work and an associate at Bay Area Career Center. She has taught, coached, and consulted about work, health and well- being in the public and sectors, and post-secondary institutions in Europe, Africa, the US and Canada, including: the World Health Organization, United Nations, IADB and World Bank.
