SVForum and Silicon Vikings are organizing this event as part of the Startup Inspire™… Show more program, for Startups from KTH - Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm.
KTH in Stockholm is the largest, oldest and most international technical university in Sweden. No less than one-third of Sweden’s technical research and engineering education capacity at university level is provided by KTH. Education and research spans from natural sciences to all the branches of engineering and includes architecture, industrial management and urban planning.
KTH Innovation is a part of the university and offers early stage innovation support to researchers and students at KTH. The support is given by professional business coaches and is free of charge for students and researchers.
The program is financed by the InnovationOffice InterAct. InterAct is a partnership between three universities in Sweden; Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), Mälardalen University (MDH) and Stockholm University (Su). InterAct strengthen the innovation support system at each university by increasing the collaboration with international markets.

Marlon Nichols, Intel Capital @ MarlonCNichols
Marlon Nichols is a venture capital investor and Kauffman Fellow at Intel Capital, the global equity investment and M&A division for Intel Corporation. In this role, Marlon sources, conducts due diligence on, invests in, and advises early stage high growth technology companies that produce cloud services, internet, and mobile solutions with an emphasis on new experiences and perceptual computing. Marlon also conducts market research, analyzes investment trends, and works with Intel business leaders to help define Intel Capital’s mobility and early stage investment strategies. Marlon serves as a board observer at a number of portfolio companies. As an individual, he mentors entrepreneurs at a number of business accelerators.
Marlon started his career in enterprise software where he successfully led the deployment of many global software and business process improvement initiatives for Fortune 100 enterprises. During his software career he was a member of a three person team based in London, Uk that was responsible for the European expansion of Frictionless Commerce.
Marlon later joined Edgewater Strategy, a boutique consulting firm where he led post M&A integration initiatives for the Blackstone Group’s real-estate division. Later, in the role of principal strategist, he led digital strategy initiatives for media companies such as Warner Music Group and McGraw Hill.
Prior to joining Intel Capital Marlon served as the Lead Fund Manager of BRV, Cornell University’s evergreen venture capital fund.
Steve Goldberg, Venrock @ mostgold
Steve joined Venrock in 2009 after having been CEO of several early stage companies including DataRunway, Vidient, Arcwave and CoWave Networks. Prior to that, he was Vice President of Research and Development at Nokia Internet Communications and Vice President and General Manager of the Wireless Communications Division at Cylink Corporation. Steve also held senior management and engineering positions at Trimble Navigation and Hewlett Packard. At Venrock, Steve focuses on investments in the wireless, mobile and energy sectors. He currently sits on the Board of Directors of Asoka, FutureDial, Newport Media, Kineto Wireless and Quantenna Communications. Previous board seats include Canesta (Acq by Microsoft) and Teranetics (Acq by PLX Technology).
Steve received his B.S. and M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Washington University and his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
Lars Johansson, K&L Gates @KLGates
Lars Johansson represents U.S.-based and international public and private companies, as well as investors, in connection with corporate transactions, including domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, venture capital financings, joint ventures, and international business transactions. He works with clients in a wide range of industries, including telecom, data analytics, information technology, software, medical device, nanotechnology, clean technology, financial services, and viniculture.
Eddy SM Lee, Fenox Venture Capital @eddysmlee
Eddy SM Lee, Ph.D is a Principal at Fenox Venture Capital where he leads the deal sourcing, due diligence and execution of investment into early-stage startups in Us, Singapore and Indonesia markets. Additionally, he supervises the consulting service for the product development, business development, strategic alliance and operations of portfolio companies. Other functional roles include marketing, fundraising, and representing the firm as an invited speaker or panelist. At Stanford University, Eddy is a Consulting Professor at the School of Medicine, where he guides the development and commercialization of projects in biotechnology. At InnoSpring, an incubator that bridges Us and China startups, he is a mentor specializing in medical technology and It advisory. With prior experience spanning engineering and military, he has filled leadership, entrepreneurship and project management roles. During his doctoral dissertation, he devised magnetic resonance imaging methodology for improving the efficacy of cellular therapy. While at Marvell and Lucent, he managed projects in integrated circuit design. Eddy completed a post-doctoral fellowship at Stanford University, and holds a Ph.D in Bioengineering and a B.Eng in Electrical Engineering. He has been an invited speaker at international conferences and has authored scientific papers, technical articles and book chapters.
Adiba Barney, SVForum @ SVForum
As of January 2014, Adiba Barney is the new CEO of SVForum - Silicon Valley´s largest and oldest non-profit organization, dedicated to educating and creating relationships within the technology and startup community. She was prior to that the Executive Director of Silicon Vikings, a non-profit business networking organization connecting the Nordic´s innovation and startup ecosystem to Silicon Valley.
Prior to Silicon Vikings, Adiba initiated, developed, and launched Innovative Sweden, a world tour exhibition promoting Sweden as an innovative country by showcasing a new generation of Swedish innovations. That is what brought her from Sweden to Silicon Valley in early 2011.
Prior to the Innovative Sweden project, Adiba worked for 13 years within the Swedish innovation ecosystem (science parks, incubators, regional and government development agencies) where she focused on creating sustainable networking platforms, developing/executing high-profile PR projects, and coaching hundreds of startup entrepreneurs in international marketing, business development, market entry, communication, PR and branding. Adiba holds a Ba in International Marketing and Business from Mälardalen University in Västerås, Sweden as well as studies in Branding, PR, Media and Communication from Berghs School of Communication in Stockholm, Sweden.
