When the Landscape is Quiet Again: North Dakota's Oil Boom, Photographs by Sarah Christianson

Thursday, Apr 10 6:00p to 8:00p
SF Camerawork San Francisco, CA

Over the last year, photographer Sarah Christianson has documented the effects of the oil boom in western North Dakota. Her color photographs bear witness to the transformation of a quiet agrarian landscape into an industrialized zone dotted with well-sites, criss-crossed by pipelines, lit up by natural gas flares, and contaminated by saltwater spills. Exhibition on view February 12-April 19. Panel talk "What the Frack?!" Thursday April 10 from 6-8pm, with the Sierra Club & Earthjustice.
