Theodore Wores (1859-1939): Plein-Air Paintings of California and Japan
This special collection of nineteenth- and early twentieth-century paintings by Theodore Wores. A San Francisco native, Wores encountered international success with exhibitions of his paintings of Japanese subjects. During the early twentieth century, he emerged as Northern California's leading landscape painter, working in the plein-air, impressionist style.
