A public screening of filmmaker Chris Marker's pivotal “essay film” Sans Soleil (1983, 103 mins), a complex meditation on individual and collective human memory, refracted through scenes filmed in Iceland, Japan, Paris, San Francisco and Guinea-Bissau, and a political and poetic approach that is Marker’s alone.
