Pico della Mirandola's Oration on the Dignity of Man (MLF)
Monday Night Philosophy goes looking for the roots of the Renaissance in the writings of Pico della Mirandola. In 1486 Pico became famous for having, when just 23 years old, proposed to defend 900 theses on religion, philosophy, natural philosophy and magic against all comers. To support his theses he wrote the Oration on the Dignity of Man, which has been called the "Manifesto of the Renaissance".
