Exercise and Orthopedic Health
Carlin Senter, MD, UCSF Primary Care Sports Medicine Specialist discusses why exercise can be invaluable in preventing bone and joint disease, slowing the loss of muscle mass, strengthening bones and reducing joint and muscle pain. Alternatively, exercise, particularly in high-contact sports such as football, can sometimes result in concussion, an injury of growing concern among young athletes. Dr. Senter also offers tips on maintaining optimum orthopedic health at any age.
