The Cypress Quartet's 2013 Call & Response program features a world premiere by Grammy and Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Jennifer Higdon, entitled "In the Shadow of Sirius." Higdon’s new piece is based on poetry by former American Poet Laureate W. S. Merwin and will be performed by the Cypress with soprano Christine Brandes. It will be paired with Dvořák’s "The Cypresses," and Schubert’s "Rosamunde." A pre-concert talk with Higdon will begin at 7:15pm.
