Volti Concert: Wear Flowers in Your Hair
Volti -- San Francisco’s new-choral-music specialists -- presents a distinctly 21st century look back at San Francisco’s beat and hippie eras, with world premieres of music by Dan Visconti and Harold Meltzer.
Visconti’s eponymous piece deconstructs the iconic 70s song, while Meltzer sets poetry by Kenneth Rexroth, sometimes called the “father of the Beats.”
Plus new works by Kirsten Broberg, Huang Ruo, and San Francisco composer Mark Winges.
