Every Sunday we'll put on a show with three three bands performing ninety-minute sets each. This is a FREE show and always FUN!!! Every week we'll have a different rotation of bands covering old-timey bluegrass, Americana, Folk, Blues, and other sub-genres of Acoustic Music. Put on your dancing shoes and make the weekend last longer with another round of fun every Sunday afternoon at Milk Bar!!!

Canyon Johnson is a dynamic bluegrass band based in the San Francisco Bay Area, drawing from the rich traditions and timeless themes of the music's founders while making it fresh and relevant to the present with intricate arrangements, soulful harmonies, and tasteful picking.

Canyon Johnson developed through a long-standing weekly bluegrass jam (or maybe it was the pizza and beer afterwards), but its roots go deeper and broader. A couple of us have been musical collaborators for decades, while others have been jamming together for years at festivals, music camps, and living rooms. We all have a passion for communicating through music and sharing our love of that "high and lonesome sound" that seems to grow better as it ages, remaining as relevant today as it ever was. From the hard driving tunes of Bill Monroe, The Stanley Brothers and Red Allen to the poignant songs of Hazel Dickens and the enchanting melodies of traditional fiddle tunes, Canyon Johnson will get your feet tapping and put a smile on your face.
