Tenth Annual Human Rights Summit

Tuesday, Apr 23, 2013 9:00a to 7:00p
Jack Adams Hall San Francisco, CA

Students in SF State’s Anthropology and Human Rights class, mentored by Professor Mariana Leal Ferreira, explore the ideas and questions that surround the human rights around the world from an anthropological perspective, drawing social, political and historical connections. The summit’s aims include thinking critically about human rights — seeing them not as a given category, but as conceptual frameworks through which political claims are made and sociopolitical transitions are accomplished.
