Arch plays "Cruiser" Bryan, a slick teen delinquent who heads a gang of car thieves who strip the rods and sell the parts to a crooked junkyard dealer. It does't take the cops too long to dope things out leading up to a sensational, tragic finale! Also in the cast are Robert Paget, Marianne Gaba, and Bruno Ve Sota (!). Hall's greatest performance (and film) is this stunning portrait of deranged teenage psychopath Charlie Tibbs who, along with his mute girl friend Judy, hold a trio of high school teachers in a net of unspeakable terror at a deserted junkyard. A true masterpiece of mounting horror, it is also a brilliantly written and filmed (by Vilmos Zsigmond) thriller that will permanently embed itself in your unsuspecting brain. Very loosely based on the late 50s murder spree of Charlie Starkweather and Caril Fugate, immortalized years later in the film BADLANDS.
