Stanford Professor Talks about "How to Do Things With Fictions"

Friday, Feb 8, 2013 2:00p to 5:00p

Artist reception and talk by Professor Joshua Landy of Stanford University, who will present themes from his new book, "How to Do Things With Fictions," a text supporting the idea that reading “works of great beauty can powerfully change your life.” Several local authors will present short readings on this theme. Part homage to fiction, part exploration of the ways in which great books have influenced other artists, the evening includes an art exhibit including work from a variety of mediums.
