Matt Herman ~ Glass Atlas (Acoustic) Free Front Room

Matt Herman is a San Francisco-based guitarist/live-looper, akin to early-'70s space-rock as performed by solo guitar, with touches of jazz and classical. He has played for twenty years, and his guitar technique and live-looping setup have been evolving since 2001, incorporating a custom extended-range tuning (initially influenced by the Chapman Stick) and a dual-amplifier sound system (influenced by a DJ's dual-turntables).

GLASS Atlas is an alternative-rock / experimental-electronic duo born out of the East Bay. The band's catchy technique, whimsical vocals, and live electronic arrangement create a powerful live performance. Set to release their first album A Great Divide this February, the debut is free-form in design and animated into an ocean of sound. Although it begun as a solo-project by Bay Area native Myasha Nicholas in 2010, the band has rapidly grown into a colorful tapestry of texture and noise.
