Dead Certain is an "edge-of-your-seat" thriller -- NYC Retrovisionmedia called this production "the sleeper of New York City's small theater season to date". The play follows an out- of-work actor who is hired by a reclusive, theater-obsessed ex-dancer to privately act out a play she has written. The truth and illusion become almost inseparably entangled in this real life game of cat and mouse.

First, I thank the playwright, Marcus Lloyd. What an interesting mind he must have. My guess is that he knows what it is like to be alone in his head for long periods of time. What tricks he plays with the words and the characters as he moves the script along with many twists and turns. Brilliant!!!
Diana Brown, a truly great actress, takes the playwright's words and breathes life into the character, Elizabeth. Ms. Brown grabs the audience right from the start and she never lets up on us. We are moved from one cunning moment to the next, seamlessly. If you want to see an actress weave magic with ease, you must see Ms. Brown as Elizabeth.
Andrey Estrelis as Michael, also captures us with his performance. He has good instincts as an actor. He has to stay on his toes to keep up with with Elizabeth throughout the play. As the director, he has done an excellent job with the blocking as this theatre space is very intimate, and makes the play even more exciting.
I enjoyed the intimacy of the performance. It is a good show, a really good show and needs people to see it. I give it five stars. You will not be disappointed if you just take the time to see this wonderfully written play, this extremely well acted and directed play!!! Don't miss this one.
