Lorenzaccio

Saturday, Dec 1, 2012 8:00p

Set in the Medici court of the 16th century, this Romantic tragedy by Alfred DeMusset follows the young, rich Lorenzo on his quest to liberate Florence from the tyrannical rule of his cousin, Alessandro de Medici, only to find himself corrupted by the very forces he seeks to eliminate. Inspired by Shakespeare’s “Hamlet,” Professor Mohammad Kowsar directs his new translation and adaptation, looking at the corrupting influences of privilege and its consequences in relation to the human condition.
