BCG’s June 2011-2012 concert is Rachmaninov's glorious All Night Vigil. Although often referred to as Vespers, the piece is a setting of 15 texts taken from the Russian Orthodox All-night vigil ceremony, including six movements from the canonical Russian Orthodox hour of vespers. All Night Vigil was one of Rachmaninov's favorite compositions and is some of the most dramatic, beautiful, and demanding, a cappella music in the choral repertoire. Please come to this unique and wonderful concert!
