Brain Fitness: The Social Aspect of Dementia and Mild Cognitive Impairment

Wednesday, Apr 17, 2013 5:30p to 7:00p

Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI) indicates difficulty with memory and thinking that are not normal but still allow the individual to function independently. Memory problems may be minimal to mild and hardly noticeable to the individual. Many—but not all—people with MCI progress to Alzheimer’s disease. Mario Garrett, PhD, professor of gerontology at SDSU will discuss nonclinical issues in MCI. This presentation argues that there might be social issues in this clinical disease.
