The demand for increasingly complex buildings & infrastructure, frequently designed by globally distributed teams and supply chains, calls for a systematic approach to project delivery that is at once data-driven, visual, and fluid.
Through case study and discussion of the National Museum of Qatar by Ateliers Jean Nouvel and the Fondation… Show more Louis Vuitton by Gehry Partners, the work of GT and its trade partners and clients will be presented, examples of project delivery systems that enable radical performance improvement in design, engineering, and execution, ultimately delivering better buildings.
Speaker Bio:
Alex Kunz is the VP of Global Services for Gehry Technologies. Trained as a mechanical engineer at Cornell University with a concentration in building architecture, he has worked in the domains of engineering, fabrication, and installation of facades, built-up roofs, and reinforced concrete structures for projects such as San Francisco International airport, Heathrow Terminal 5, the retrofit to London’s St. Pancras rail station, industrial factories for Intel and Motorola, and various commercial buildings.
With GT he has worked on cultural, commercial, government and infrastructure projects to improve design and construction performance, and established the European services team in 2007. Areas of expertise include global project delivery systems, advanced design, analysis and collaboration systems, lean construction and production control, and improved integration of design and construction.
