Jill Witkowski, Waterkeeper for San Diego Coastkeeper, will discuss strategies for preventing San Diego’s own Silent Spring, specifically focusing on what can be done about local water pollution. James Nieh, an authority on communication in bees from UC San Diego, will discuss the insidious effects of a parasite and common pesticides on honey bees.
