Led by Alvin Ailey and a group of African-American modern dancers, the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater grew from their fabled performance in 1958 at the 92nd St. Young Men's Hebrew Association. That performance changed the perception of American dance. In 2008, U.S. Congress deemed the Company “a vital American cultural ambassador to the world”.
Two Nights - Two Programs. Each La Jolla Music Society program features different repertory concluding with the iconic masterpiece, Revelations.
